Ohio
The word Ohio is derived from the word “Ohi: yo” means “large creek.” This is a state which is in USA.Ohio is the 7th most populous state in the world. Approximately 11.5 million residents are there. It is formed from the Ohio Territory and was enlisted as the seventeenth state of the USA. Ohio is also known as the “Buckeye State” for its “Buckeye Trees” and the Ohioans are also known as “Buckeyes”. Ohio’s geographical location proved that it is an asset for the economical growth and expansion. If we see the History of Ohio, then we can see, according to the archeological evidence, Ohio Valley was occupied by the Nomadic people early in 13,000 BC, but, due to some changes or due to some other unknown reasons, those nomads disappeared from there in approximately 1,000 BC. But, their material culture was followed by their later successors. According to the historians, the Sedentary Adena Culture which immerged between 1000 – 800 BC as historian Gorge W Knepper notes the culture as a rich, sophisticated culture after getting the evidences while excavated in the year 1902 on the ground of Adena where Thomas Worthington’s estate is located near Chillicothe. From there the historians established that the Adena used to establish semi-permanent villages and stay there because apart form hunting and gathering, they use to domesticate plants like Sunflower, quash etc. According to some historians, there are seven layers of civilizations. So, time changed and after the Colonial Revolutionaries and USA’s creation of Northwest Territory under the Northwest Ordinance from 1787-1803, and after 1803 Ohio existed as a state, or rather we can say Statehood came to Ohio.
Ohio consists of 28.9% Germans, 14.8% of Irish, and 10.1% English, and 8.4% Americans and 6.4% of Italians. According to Pew Forum Poll in the report of 2008, 76% Ohioans are Christians and 24% are of other religions like Evangelical Protestant, Muslims, Buddhist, Jews, and Mormons and so on. It is having a non-sovereign level of Government, having Executive, Legislative and Judicial levels.
Last but not the least is to say that, Ohioans are trade-centric due to its geographical situation; transportation is the main feature which leads to trade, while on the other hand they are rich in culture, education, technologies, and law enforcement.
