Today the area code 848 covers five counties and they are Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Ocean. There are 23 cities that are covered by this area code and some of them are Avenel, Bound Brook, Clark, Edison, Fords, Englishtown, Freehold, Middlesex, Woodridge, Spring Lake, Tom River, Middletown, Keasby, Shrewsbury etc.
The area code has 29 telephone exchanges that cater to the people that live in the above mentioned areas of New Jersey.
